OUR STORY
Natural State Comedy is a collective of stand-up comedians that produce, promote and perform on independent comedy shows at multiple venues across Northwest Arkansas.
The collective was founded in 2010 by Troy Gittings, Brett Robinson, Zac Slusher and Brian Spence. They were interested in doing stand-up, but there was no local comedy scene at that time, so they started an open-mic and named their group Comedians NWA.
Over the next several years, the group steadily expanded as the shows were also growing, bringing in acts like Bert Kreischer, Doug Stanhope and Tom Green just to name a few.
In 2017, the group shifted its focus to producing weekly shows featuring nationally touring acts joined by local and regional favorites. The group also continued to run a weekly open-mic where comedians of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned vets, take the stage every week to hone their craft.
In 2020, all shows came to a sudden stop with the rest of the world and the group went on a hiatus. Once things were able to resume safely in 2021, the collective came back together, now under a new name: Natural State Comedy.
Natural State Comedy is focused on producing great shows that are fun, friendly and inclusive for the audience and performers alike. If you would like more information about Natural State Comedy, please visit the Contact section of the website to send them a message.
